Kacher Manush is about two men , who are battling their own serious problems in their lives, meet unexpectedly and ultimately think of ideas to solve their issues only to realise later they are ultimately fighting for one reason.
First things first, the ideas that both Kuntol and Sudarshan come up with initially to sort their problems is just stupid . I mean , there are many other ways of a man sits quietly and thinks but no, they decide that Kuntol should commit suicide and that would give 10 lakh rupees , half of which Sudarshan will use to cure her ailing sister . I mean , this is just beyond stupid at first place and not even real. I know many people commit suicide (which btw is the main topic of this film as will be revealed later) to help their ailing families , but dude who takes a joint decision to commit suicide?? It's pretty unreal even from a fictional perspective.
Second , what i liked was the film actually shows the helplessness of human beings through Kuntol and Sudarshan pretty well. Both are battling their own problems and when one isn't able to win , he starts thinking of evil ways to fulfill it (as showcased by Sudarshan) . A helpless human often stops seeing friends around him but only sees ways for him to get out of problems in his life. Director has aced this angle of the film.
However, in an attempt to showcase this, the director has come up with a film that might put one in depression or sadness . Throughout the film one tries to kill the other or one tries to think ways to commit suicide or one is constantly reminded of Sudarshan's sister ailing condition or shown glimpses of the failures of the two men etc everything i mentioned here is enough to give you a depression stroke.
The climax is another point where again the characters become foolish . Keeping in mind not to give out spoilers, i would say the climax is again depressing but felt more like a triangle of killing attempts and misunderstandings that may even become borderline funny to some people seeing how foolish the characters are .
Dev, Prosenjit and Isha all three of done a very good job though. Prosenjit is the real star while Dev has relatively lesser dialogues. What i liked was Dev and Isha's romantic angle was not introduced just for the sake of having a romantic angle but has importance later, big importance to be precise.
Few songs are really good in this film.
Overall, a decent one time watch but most of the time you will have a sad expression on your face watching this and also the film is not short of jarring flaws .
