This game was somewhat fun and had an interesting plot especially at the beginning of the game. Suffers a bit near the end as the story just does not unfold all that well and there are no really great revelations or anything to round out the game. The fighting is somewhat good, however it like the story is uneven. For the most part you will have no trouble dispatching most enemies, but there are certain ones that are very hard. Not the last boss mind you. The fighting uses a button combo style fighting reminiscent of "Xenogears", when you were not fighting in the mechs. You can chain the combos together and near the end I was seriously destroying nearly all the bad guys as it was fairly easy to chain the attacks together and perform the most powerful attacks in the game. The cast of characters is colorful as is to be expected considering the brains behind this game. The story has a young man living his life in a small town. When all of a sudden he is taken to the ruler of the land's palace, powers within him are unleashed and they turn everything around him to sand...the building, the people, everything. He is soon recruited by a girl who wants him to use his powers to destroy everything as she does not like the world as it is. A world where part human/part animal creatures control the regular humans and treat them as second class citizens. More characters join these two and they embark on strange missions given to them by mysterious papers falling from the sky. The game's story is interesting, but it does get weaker as it progresses. You just expect so much more from what is established early on. The game also suffers from being on the DS, as they wish to use voices and such and they just do not work as well on the DS as they would on the PSP. That and is seems kind of pointless as the touch screen is not used at all. This game just feels like it is unfinished and had they worked on it a little longer it could have been really special.
