As I stumbled upon this 2022 Thai horror comedy late in 2022, of course I opted to sit down and watch it. I do enjoy Asian cinema quite a lot, and with "Daeng Phra Khanong" being a movie that I hadn't already seen, nor actually heard about, of course I had to watch it.
The storyline in "Daeng Phra Khanong" was pretty straight forward. As it is a horror comedy, you have to expect a fair amount of goofy silly things in the movie, especially among the character gallery. But in general, then the storyline in the movie was actually fair enough, and it provided me with adequate entertainment.
The acting in the movie was good. I can't claim to be familiar with anyone except Petchtai Wongkamlao.
Visually then "Daeng Phra Khanong" was actually not too bad. There were some special effects throughout the course of the movie, and the special effects department actually pulled it off nicely enough, and the special effects looked good and helped to further the narrative of the storyline well enough.
For a horror comedy then "Daeng Phra Khanong" was watchable, but it wasn't an outstanding foray into the Thai horror comedy, especially since there are several other older movies of the same type based on the same story to be seen in Thai cinema. But "Daeng Phra Khanong" was entertaining enough for what it turned out to be. However, I doubt that I will ever return to watch it a second time.
My rating of "Daeng Phra Khanong" lands on a five out of ten stars.
