Jawan of Vellimala

Engaging cinema is hard to come by these days.

Films either fail to captivate the viewer's interest or they have the viewer completely engrossed at one point, only to follow with a disappointing collapse of events. So I was pleasantly surprised to have seen a film that managed to capture my interest and hold onto it.

Although all the actors have given good performances, the show still belongs to Mammootty. Without getting into any spoilers, he plays a difficult character with effortless ease. I did wish that he had more screen time though.

The story is interesting and although things get a little slow post interval, the film delivers on the lines of being a thriller drama of sorts with the protagonist having to fight off both his inner and outer world demons. 'Jawaan of Vellimala' will have you leaving the theater with a sense of pride; thoroughly entertained, rooting for the hero, and praising the actor who played the hero.

Like i said...'Grows on you'
