Officer Groves: Someone came to your door, you let him in, he stayed until he was asked to leave, and he left. Did he make any threats?

Cheryl Broadbent: Well no, but he behaved in a threatening manner.

Officer Groves: Did he specifically threaten you with violence?

Tim Broadbent: Not with words, no.

Officer Groves: What exactly is the nature of your relationship with this man?

Tim Broadbent: There's no relationship, he showed up at Mona's birthday party and he claimed to be her biological father.

Officer Groves: Is he?

Tim Broadbent: I don't know, I mean he could be I guess, but how am I supposed to know?

Officer Groves: And you're the *adoptive* fathe.r

Tim Broadbent: Yes, I, I will be as soon as the finalization hearing is done. Look, he has no claim to her! The state took her, and we adopted her.

Officer Groves: It sounds like something you're going to have to take up with a judge. Now until there's a legitimate threat against you or your baby, there's really nothing we can do. You folks have a good night.

Tim Broadbent: [closes door behind them] Unbelievable.
