Prince James and king Geoffrey are from the fictional European country called Genova. This is actually in reality an ancient city in Italy and is spelled as Genoa in English. Historically, it was an independent state for some 700 years, but it wasn't monarchy, it was maritime republic.

James and Peter come to hotel in the beginning of the movie. In the following several minutes there are multiply camera angle changes in their hotel room, and they also go into other room. James' lips change colors from reddish to brownish, and vice versa multiply times when camera angle changes.

Watchable, but nothing outstanding...

Well, from the movie's title and cover, I have to say that I wasn't exactly harboring the biggest of expectations to writer Jessica L. Randall and director Don McBrearty. Yet, I still opted to add the movie to my December 2024 Christmas movie marathon, as it was a movie that I had neither heard about nor watched before. And who knows, maybe the movie would be better than what I was believing it to be.

The movie was watchable, sure, but it was hardly an outstanding Christmas movie experience. Writer Jessica L. Randall played it very, very safe, betting on the archetypical tropes that you expect from sappy Christmas movies, for better or worse. So this wasn't exactly a revolutionary movie in any way, not even for a sappy Christmas movie. But hey, if you enjoy generic sappy Christmas movies, then you're in for a treat.

I was not familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, which is actually something that I do enjoy whenever I sit down to watch a movie. And I will say that the acting performances in the movie were fair.

"Royally Yours, This Christmas", while being watchable, wasn't exactly an outstanding Christmas movie. And it definitely doesn't have the contents to become a Christmas classic, nor is it a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time.

My rating of director Don McBrearty's 2023 movie lands on a four out of ten stars.
