Reminiscent of those rom-coms that Eddie Powell directed for New Sensations a decade ago, "Catfished Volume 5" is by Mike Quasar, who handles most of the credits, with Eddie now just the soundman.
It has some okay dialogue in telling the story of best friends Anna Claire Clouds and Robby Apples/Echo, who argue a lot but have never advanced to a romantic relationship. Their friends, especially Queenie Sateen, suggest they hook up, but the two of them feel more like siblings than potential lovers -too much familiarity over the years.
Both try out dating apps, and both get catfished, Robby by his ex-lover Millie Morgan, and Anna by Robby, which causes her to become angry enough with him (when he shows up instead of the expected dreamboat -Ryan Driller) to end their friendship. With the passage of time they cornily get back together, this time for sex.
It's uneventful and unimaginative, merely an inoffensive presentation of Sweet Sinner's four sex scenes per feature.
