It's about white grad students spending their holiday. There's no plot, just a series of situations. They smoke marijuana in LA, talk about their majors, meet a girlfriend in France, and soak in hot springs in Iceland... claiming they are experiencing the highlights of life. Literally, that's what they said.
Hey guys... you haven't done anything or learned anything. Their shallow understanding of life (or whatever that is) leads to emotions that don't mean anything to me. Yet they mistakenly think they understand something. Then they burn their textbooks later. What have they actually learned?
Watching a movie filled with such lazy thinking was incredibly frustrating.
The laziness of the filmmakers was palpable.
Is the story lazy? That can be forgiven; alternative genres exist, and such movies can be made.
But if the laziness of the filmmakers is evident, that is unforgivable. This is where my anger stems from.
And they just place people in a nice landscape.
This is a director's diary. This is not a movie.

Yes I know. But you still have to put out something that can be consumed...
