Elizabeth Marleau originally played the character of Karen Singer in season 3 of Supernatural (2005). She had become visibly pregnant by the time she was due to reprise her role in season 5, forcing a recast. Carrie Anne Fleming, who had previously played a minor role of a nurse in season 2, took over the role for the rest of the series.
