David Sumpter(III)

David Sumpter is a Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Uppsala, Sweden. He uses mathematics and statistics to analyze a variety of diverse subjects from the movement of 'fish schools' to the tactics of FC Barcelona. His book 'Soccermatics' takes scientific concepts and applies them to the beautiful game. He won the Institute of Mathematics' Catherine Richards Prize for explaining maths to a wider audience. He also runs Twelve, a football statistics tool and app.
