J. Michael Niotta is the great grandson of Jack Dragna, the West Coast mafia boss from 1931 to 1956, who partnered with Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel in the racing wire service and ordered multiple attempts on the life of gambler Mickey Cohen, a dispute referred to as The Battle of the Sunset Strip.
