Former Rep.
Anthony Weiner was sentenced to 21 months in prison for sexting with a 15-year-old girl in a case that rocked
Hillary Clinton's campaign for the White House in the closing days of the race and may have cost her the presidency in 2016. He sought to be spared from prison, tearfully telling Judge Denise Cote on the 25th Sept. 2017, that he was "a very sick man for a very long time." Weiner, weeping as he read from a written statement on a page he held in front of him, called his crime his "rock bottom." Weiner wept more as the sentence was announced and sat in his seat for several minutes, continuing to cry. He said nothing as he left the courthouse. He must surrender to prison officials by Nov. 6, 2017.
