Devayush Chowdhary is an Indian-American filmmaker best known for Adda (2019) and Emotional Atyachar (2010). His critically acclaimed debut feature Adda (2019), which starred the legendary Soumitra Chatterjee and Sabyasachi Chakrabarty along with Saayoni Ghosh, released theatrically in September of 2019 and subsequently started streaming on Amazon Prime Video worldwide. A graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Devayush is a versatile story-teller who is known for crafting true to life characters and entertaining stories which leave a lasting impression on the audience. He has been closely associated with the revolutionary stream of independent cinema coming out of India in recent years having worked on films like M Cream (2014) and Phobia (2016). Earlier in his career Devayush was Assistant Director to notable filmmakers like Rituporno Ghosh, Anurag Kashyap, Kaushik Ganguly, Birsa Dasgupta and Ribhu Dasgupta. In 2014 he turned to screenwriting and wrote for shows like Emotional Atyachar (2010) and Halla Bol 2 (2014) on networks like UTV Bindaas and MTV. His short film The Others (2013) received accolades at film festivals around the world like New York New Filmmaker's Winter Series 2014 and was the inaugural film (Shorts Section) at the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival and the International Film Festival of South Asia - Toronto (2015).
