"Primative Technology" is a new short film by Bo Price and I saw it over the weekend at the Tampa Bay Underground Film Festival. Now here's the weird part....I thought it was one of the more enjoyable shorts I saw but it was completely stupid! Now this is not meant as an insult...Price obviously intended this movie to be stupid...and he did a great job of it!
The film is about a group of weirdos who eschew modern technology and love to re-purpose old, obsolete technology...such as cassette players, rotary telephones, Morse Code keys, common balloons and more. When two new guys join the gang, they are told that their dreams can come true thanks to re-purposed technology. So, when one guy wants to fly like a bird, they rig up a crappy looking contraption and tell him he can! And, when he plunges into the earth, the other guy is told that now he is a doctor and he should use old technology to heal his friend's compound fracture!! There's much more to it...and it's worth your time seeing it because the film will make you laugh...and that's plenty of reason right there!
