In the beginning, Cappy turns into Mario's hat and then Mario throws Cappy and then puts him back on his head. Cappy never told him he would come back, so how would Mario know that after throwing Cappy he would come back.

Versiones alternativas
The Chinese version has several changes upon the Tencent' release in order to comply with the country's video game regulations:
The Pirate Outfit has the skull and eye patch removed and has been renamed "Noble Outfit", while the Pirate Hat has become "Noble Hat".
The world maps have the English names, including coordinate numbers and letters, removed. The maps both in-game and on the cartridge and download cards have been affected by this change.

Best 3D Mario since Galaxy 2

I must say, Nintendo really surprised with Super Mario Odyssey. I just love how unique and how much of a departure the game play is from its predecessors. For the first time ever in a 3D Mario game players can explore vast and complex 3D worlds. A truly open world experience backed up by the amazing Cappy mechanic Mario can posses various npc's, enemies, and even inanimate objects by throwing his hat. I believe the Cappy mechanic and vast open world to explore provides much needed depth to the Super Mario series.
