Paul Chaplin notoriously ran and ran into the ground (sort of like Trump and his Atlantic City casinos) the Bluebird label several years back, and NATASHA MARLEY: ANGEL FACE is typical of him at his clunkiest. He made Ms. Marley a star, giving her the plum roles in several of Bluebird's greatest hits (albeit in the clunky porn-parody vein), but this spotlight session does her no favors.
She's a female gangster, and we see five vignettes of her in action with generic titles to match the generic sex, e.g., "Cell", "Assassin" and "Payoff".
Some capers are presented on crummy sets, such as a bank vault that the project's uncredited design team spent zilch effort on. Chaplin shows up as a corrupt cop, simply so the beautiful British ladies he's hired can hump him.
Truly top actresses like Michelle Thorne and Linsey Dawn McKenzie are wasted in ludicrous scenes that seem like an amateur production rather than a major (at the time, bearing a 2010 copyright) Adult label. The improvised dialog is embarrassing, and for once-pretentious Chaplin (see his blockbuster-scale productions) this is worse than usual.
Fortunately, I doubt if very many people other than a Bluebird completist like me ever watched this obscure title. Oops! -googling this title I see that "Xcritic", a blog folks seemingly rely upon for Industry-serving information, recommended it. Caveat emptor.
