Reseña destacada
As the show is coming towards an end before its second season takes off, i am in a perfect position to review this show. I can say this with guarantee that i have been the most loyal audience for this show. I will divide this review into 2 parts. - things i loved and those which i didn't
The things that i loved: The protagonist has been written in such a freshing way, she comes across as a chill breeze in the dry dessert. Rarely do we see such an upbeat female lead who believes in her individuality but still not coming across as a selfish vamp. She is clearly full of herself, that too very unapologetically. But this never comes in her way to do what she thinks is best for others. She apparently loves her vanity the most, but at times of need she seems least concerned about that. Doesn't even flinch before taking a punch to her face while standing for what she believes in. Best part about her character is that she is dynamic unlike other hindi tv serial heroines who are so rigid about their values that we rarely see any difference in their characters. But Nimki is in constant process of learning and so are all the other characters. She can come across as naive to you in one scene amd super clever in another.
The supporting caste of this show deserves the biggest award in tv industry. Each and every character, whether it be tunne, BDO, Babbu, sweety or any common villager like Ismail chacha, makes his/her presence felt.
The writers and director of this show seem like really intelligent people who have really invested a lot of time in understanding the complex mindset of people belonging to such contrasting settings. They have shown sensitivity to the psychological, political, social, economic and legal context the setting chosen by them. We rarely see anyone dealing with issues like caste and gender and their intersectionality in such a sincere manner in the film/tv serial industry.
The set design is another thing i really appreciate. Ghattola has the typical village architecture with mud houses, kinara shops, ground for kids to play, kachcha roads, etc.. the haveli shown is also appropriately designed. Keeping in mind the class and mindset of tetter singh's family.
One thing i really respect about this show is how sensitivity they addressed issues like domestic violence and rape. They make sure that nothing too uncomfortable is shown on screen yet the audience mature enough to understand these things gets an idea what exactly has happened.
Not so lovable aspect: Now, considering it is a daily soap, these shows at times kind of strech a few episodes to make sure that the story can be told in proper sets with a jaw dropping cliff hanger being dropped at the end of almost every episode.
These fillers seem really boring when compared to the high octane drama that usually goes on in the show. But it lasts only for a couple of episodes at max at a time. 98% of this show is a full blown party mood!!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!
