Please bear in mind I am reviewing this after 40 years and I was 9 years old when the show was broadcast. The show was recorded in front of a live audience in the style of a music hall/vaudeville show. Charlie Drake acted out several 'turns', one of which was an Arab-style magician who made a mess of his act (not a direct steal from Tommy Cooper, but very close). The other thing that has never left me is that the show (script, gags and all) were the same every week! Making his entrance as the magician, Drake would attempt the Arab head, lips and heart gesture and poke himself in the eye - every single week. A very odd show.
