The Lewis "Brothers" (director Louie, producer Elliot, with "sister" Jo Ann joining them on occasion) are rightfully revered among porn fans for their quickly shot, cheaply produced yet star-studded little numbers which always looked like they cost a whole lot more than they actually did. Mainstream take-off 8 TO 4 may have proved their biggest success but still wouldn't make it into my personal top 3, consisting of TOUCH ME IN THE MORNING, PLEASE MR POSTMAN and this delightful romp inspired by another Dolly Parton flick, in this case THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN Texas.
The Chicken Ranch becomes the Feline Farm, a rural bordello run by third generation Madam Mavis, played by genre goddess Annette Haven. A local preacher man wants to put her out of business and it's up to the proprietress and her girls to thwart his efforts. There's a little bit more to the plot with new boarder Tammy Sue (delicious Danielle, the "woman who was born hot" as late porn critic cum filmmaker Jim Holliday christened her) being shown the ins 'n' outs of the play for pay business, but this is basically wall to wall carnality. In that respect, it's hard to beat, yet easy to beat off to ! Most of the sex comes from each of the ladies recounting a favorite customer. Yep, I know it's a simple set-up but executed with such great production (great mood lighting with emphasis on flickering candles and fireplaces, fluid editing, lush romantic music) that the effort yields maximum eroticism every time.
Rhonda Jo Petty appears in flashback footage as Mavis' granny with bulky trick Milton Ingley (a/k/a "Michael Morrison") to get the ball rolling. Class act Kay Parker gets to perform the most romantic number with Billy Dee. The late Lisa De Leeuw passionately tears into hunky Eric Stein (the tennis pro gigolo from Chris Warfield's PURELY PHYSICAL) in a scene presumably left over from another shoot as she doesn't appear in any of the scenes involving the other actresses. High Society's "Kimberly", as she is introduced in the credits, is actually K.C. Valentine who would go on to play a rare lead in Vinnie Rossi's insipid FOREPLAY. Fan favorite Dorothy LeMay bubbles with characteristic enthusiasm even when she's just on hand to provide additional eye candy. Highlights include Tammy Sue's initiation courtesy of Mavis and her sheriff/lover (Mike Horner) and the tremendous chemistry between Danielle and Joey Silvera as the football captain of the winning team coming to collect his real reward.
