The Box Lunch Club

This ephemeral XXX takeoff on the hit THE BREAKFAST CLUB is of interest only because of the presence of two interesting adult cinema actresses. Otherwise it is merely one of tens of thousands of forgettable porn video spoofs.

Typical of the teen genre the cast is too old, with Ron Jeremy (aged 33 at the time) the most dubious of the high schoolers. However in one of her earliest roles, and credited oddly enough under her real name, Trinity Loren is fresh and convincing as a buxom coed who has sex with two older guys: teacher Jesse Eastern and a mixed combo bout with janitor Jonathan Younger.

Loren, especially her nose, looks different than in her later roles, similar to the transition of Sophia Loren from that superstar's earliest 1950s movies to her more familiar and ageless beauty in famous later assignments.

Other pleasant surprise here is Carol Titian as Miss Crabtree, the mean teacher in charge of the kids' detention. She looks a lot like Miranda Richardson, and provides a decidedly different MILF persona on-screen; in fact at first I presumed she would only be appearing in a non-sex role to boss the cast around, but she gets down with student Tony Martino.

Director Ned Morehead is no favorite of mine, but I do recommend an excellent shot-on-film noir he made: STREET HEAT, yet to be rediscovered.

To find a copy you have to look for THE HOT LUNCH CLUB, a mistaken alternate title perpetrated (presumably out of sloppiness, rather than being prudish) by Alpha Blue Archives for its DVD release, with the correct original title appearing on screen when you watch the DVD.
