For film critic Mr.Lalit Rao,Germany is the only great nation after Greece and France which has given numerous important philosophers and philosophical theories to the world.There is hardly any good philosophy student who does not know about great German philosophers namely Hegel, Heidegger,Kant and Schopenhauer.This is one principal reason why whenever one hears the word Germany,one gets some kind of an idea about Germany.It is this idea which helps people to form an image of Germany as per their intellectual level.Germany is best represented by its people who are renowned for their passion for money and punctuality.It is the former aspect which has been treated in a very humane manner in this short film. Kleingeld informs us about the relationship one shares with money.It is the simple tale of a beggar who willingly opts to clean a businessman's car in exchange for a simple sum of money which he receives on most occasions.However,these two men are stunned when their mutual trust disappears when a bigger sum of money comes into picture.There is a lot for serious viewers in this short film directed by Marc-Andreas Bochert who studied at Potsdam,Germany's famous "Hochschule Für Film Und Fernsehen "Konrad Wolf".On the one hand,some viewers would empathize with the beggar's pride as his life does not give him much chances to improve his station.On the other hand,there would also be viewers who would reserve their sympathies for the business man as his work describes his behavior.This is one reason why he is able to reserve some small amount of money for a beggar but denies a needy man a loan amount.All cultures have discussed the importance of money.However,Kleingeld informs that money has no value if the value of a human is lost.It is the inclusion of this philosophical thread which makes Kleingeld a film worth watching with friends,family and other people who matter.
