Prema Chitram Pelli Vichitram

To those who are familiar with Naresh's movies, this movie is a particularly good example of why he is considered funny. In this movie, he is cast as a rather happy-go-lucky fellow obsessed with getting into the Guinness Book of records. Each of his attempts ends in disaster, but only serves to egg him on. There is some light slapstick humor based on his attempts that is pulled off quite well. His father a rather short-tempered man also creates some funny moments with his anger.

When Naresh's character falls in love, it is in his typical self-deprecating style where tries to fight Karata style with a fellow to impress the girl and ends up being beaten black and blue. The above and the scene where Naresh trying to hypnotise her into falling in love with him are hilarious!

Unfortunately, he is separated from the heroine and realizes that he needs to enlist the help of his friends and relatives in trying to secure his love. for this, he must eliminate the evil landlord played superbly by the talented Brahmanandam as "bevarsu babai." The interaction between bevarsu babai and his tenants also provide many hilarious moments in the movie. The addition of Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam is not as funny but keeps the merriness going. Eventually, when naresh uses a ruse to trick bevarsu babai into acquiring an old roadroller that he can neither use nor discard, the audience is just rolling with laughter.

The climax finally ensues with Naresh uniting with the heroine, Vani Viswanath, and all the sub-stories are brought to a fitting end as well. All in all, a very well written, wellacted movie that can be seen several times for all the jokes/humor.
