Wanda Wiley is a would-be writer. She gets back a bundle of her manuscripts, with a covering letter saying there's no romance, adventure or intelligence in them; otherwise they're fine. Soon enough, she's thrown out of her apartment, and gets involved in a long chase sequence with a trio of crooks and taxi driver Earl McCarthy. The gags are snappy, the pace is terrific, and it's a thoroughly enjoyable short comedy.
I was surprised that my records show I had seen only one other movies with Miss Wiley. The name was familiar with me, but most of her starring shorts were with Century, a firm run by relatives of the Laemmles, which got them distribution through Universal, but most of their shorts were derivative. Not this one! Let's hope more of her movies show up.
