Harold Strickland (Victor Platt), the Chairman of the Cool Kups drinks company, is murdered. Inspector Mann (Bernard Lee) of Scotland Yard is soon on the scene and is surprised at how quickly Strickland's partner, Frank Merril (John Van Eyssen) has moved into the Chairman's office and assumed control of the company. Mann quickly uncovers a tale of board room manoeuvring and a murder plot revolving around Merril, Strickland's adulterous wife Freda (Moira Redmond) and a keen to marry Australian lorry driver, Rex Holland (Gordon Boyd).
This thriller follows down a well-trodden route but it's efficiently made, well-acted and with enough suspense to keep you watching. Like usual Bernard Lee adds some gravitas as the inspector. The police come across as very efficient and on the ball.
