Polyamory 4

James Avalon has settled into his late-career role as craftsman, toiling away endlessly for Mile High Media as cameraman and/or director of fairly mindless content. For this show about open relationships his screenplay tries to tie a bunch of disparate characters together, but ends up delivering just the usual equivalent of 4 Mile High sex vignettes.

One device I found extremely annoying was a use of repeated footage to introduce sex scenes representing simultaneity. I have seen this in other videos from Erotica X or its sister labels Dark X and Hard X to maximize content during a foursome, i.e., showing the same scene twice but once with a couple in the background humping away (out of focus or at least hard to see) and then repeating the lengthy scene from a reverse angle camera, in which the previous foreground couple is now in the background.

Here we have a phone call or a visit serving the same purpose. So after a half hour sex scene is completed, Avalon returns to the phone call and now we follow what happens (sexually) on the other end of the line.

Basically, the notion of polyamory is explored here as folks sort of swap in real life progressions rather than at some party. Of the principal players, busty Autumn Falls and lovely Emily Willis make the strongest impression, but the sum total of the sex with whomever format is to give the impression that this is an empty form of hedonism, little different from a summer fling or horsing around on vacation at some resort. Even the academic approach to the subject (see: Nina Hartley's educational videos) is superior to this.
