Chris Columbus, director of Solo en casa (1990) and Solo en casa 2: Perdido en Nueva York (1992), had the following to say when the topic of this reboot came up during an interview while promoting Crónicas de Navidad 2 (2020): "Nobody got in touch with me about it, and it's a waste of time as far as I'm concerned. What's the point? I'm a firm believer that you don't remake films that have had the longevity of Home Alone. You're not going to create lightning in a bottle again. It's just not going to happen. So why do it? It's like doing a paint-by-numbers version of a Disney animated film - a live-action version of that. What's the point? It's been done. Do your own thing. Even if you fail miserably, at least you have come up with something original."

When Max enters the house after sleeping in the car, the house alarm is on. His movements in the house should trigger the motion sensors, thus alarming the parents.
