For additional promotion on the "Under the Jacarandas" film, Rody did an interview and showed clips of Under the Jacarandas film on Spotlit with Carolyn Chiodini-Cable's Spotlit Interview cable show, season 1 show #13. He used his new feature film to illustrate his way of making the Visual Storytelling that he learned at AFI. Rody used the name Joel Afi (his real name is Joel). He also tells his intentions to go through AFI for the film festival route, with talks about the Incredible Visual Story process with Carolyn Chiodini-Cable.
Carolyn met Rody through Talmadge Ragan at the American Film Institute (AFI); he set up a meeting in the casting office to complete the setup as he wanted Carolyn for his personal movie. Later, Carolyn also interviewed Talmadge as a casting director and actress on the cable TV series Spotlit with Carolyn Cable.
