This little story began as a short comedy sketch performed in the variety theatres around the UK at the turn of the last century by the comedy troup, 'Fred Carno's Army'. The magician Alistair Crowley saw it, and said that if one truly understood the meaning of this sketch, then they would understand the true secret of Magick.
