Right, well I had the chance to sit down and watch the 2020 action comedy "Justice High" here in 2021. I hadn't heard about the movie prior to sitting down to watch it, but reading the movie's synopsis definitely made me have an interest in watching it.
While running at almost 2 hours, "Justice High" from director Johnny Chae felt insanely slow paced and boring actually. The movie was rather uneventful, and for an action comedy, you have to look far and hard to find the comedy elements. As for the action sequences, well there were some, but hardly enough to make up for the lack of a properly written storyline or the fact that the movie's narrative was so slow even a snail would go "seriously?"
I had expected more from "Justice High" than what director Johnny Chae managed to deliver, I must admit that. So yeah, "Justice High" fell short of providing me with proper entertainment. In fact, I gave up on the movie and have zero plans to return to watch the rest of the movie, as it just didn't come off as being entertaining for my liking.
The movie did have a good ensemble of actresses and actors, I will say that much, and even while having precious little to work with in terms of a proper script, then actress Jung Da-Eun managed to do well enough.
Sure, some of the fight scenes where the main character Chae-yeong (played by Jung Da-Eun) stood up to the bullies were entertaining enough, but they were hardly enough to make up for the lack of proper contents generally throughout the movie, nor were they enough to make up for the boredom that permeated the entire movie.
I found "Justice High" to be a swing and a miss from writers Chae Yeojoon and Lim Yeong-ju.
My rating of this 2020 action comedy lands on a generous three out of ten stars. Sadly so, because "Justice High" definitely had a lot of potential to be a great and entertaining movie. But it just fell short of delivering.
