Well Griff Rhys Jones, Rory McGrath and Dara O'Briain are just channelling the Top Gear trio here. Whereas Clarkson & co mess around with crazy challenges with cars here is some self indulgence with boats as the trio go off to the Western Isles following the footsteps Johnson and Boswell.
There is plenty of Hoots Mon Jimmy, a soundtrack full of 'Donald where's your troosers? and similar clichéd ditties.
There is also plenty of promotion for Highland whiskey distilleries which McGrath enjoys sampling and the programme has more padding than an England cricketer facing the classic fast bowling lineup from the West Indies from 1976.
Our trio bicker with each other, place bets against each other. They try on kilts, shear sheep, Briain acquits himself well in the Highland Games and Jones cheats in a boat race.
Its mildly interesting but its clear that this good natured programme has run out of steam even thought it too two days to fire up the steam driven puffer.
