Appu is a young man who spends far too much time on facebook . One day he meets a young woman called Anju in a coffee shop
This is a good natured Indian short featuring a protagonist who spends far too much of his life on Facebook . I muse admit I despise Facebook . I'm registered with the site under my Sunday name and have a few photos of me when I had the best job in the world ( If you've seen my avatar you'll know why it was the best job in the world ) and some snaps and video of my travels but apart from that I have no friends on it and keep that principle because ... well let's be honest - it's not real life and it's not important
STATUS UPDATED is like I said good natured but not much more than that . Even for a Facebook-phobe like myself Appu is very much a character I can relate to to because I know far too many people like that . There was also a scene that confused where Appu meets Anju for the first time and I thought this conversation was taking place online . In fact I don't think I've seen this very obvious technique where a character is online talking to a female where the location isn't visually portrayed as being a beautiful landscape such as flower covered fields bathed in warm sunshine and two people , a man and a woman talking face to face . Maybe I should take copyright out on that that concept ? As it stands STATUS UPDATED just sort of fizzles out
