When Michaela loses her job her life starts to fall apart. Flatmate Stephanie has always supported her, and now that support is financial as well. As Stephanie helps Michaela they meet two men who run a nightclub. With the distraction caused by the activities of gangsters StephanieÂ’s relationship is soon on the rocks while MichaelaÂ’s is working. As Michaela rebuilds her world Stephanie's falls apart leading to a destructive climax. Entwinement is a powerful psychological drama that shows Newcastle life in a new and contemporary light.

A fascinating drama

A fascinating drama about two women and their friendship who's lives spiral out of control. This film is definitely not for the light hearted. This real world drama can take you on a roller coaster of emotions if you let it. I agree with the previous comments, that the film is for a mature audience, but if you like dramas with a dense plot, love triangles, and powerful emotions, I definitely recommend it. It also gives you a superb view into the nightlife of Newcastle and its underbelly. Technically the film is flawless, the acting and directing shows in no way that this film wasn't shot on a big budget. Truly a gem of British independent cinema.
