This movie was a very nice surprise coming from the Romanian cinematography. Finally a feel good Romanian movie for the entire family with a nice plot with very talented kids acting like pros. An ambitious fantasy adventure kind of movie keeping the proportions for a Romanian production. To note that the message hidden behind the story is quite emotional and I think every parent should watch it with a handkerchief at hand . The kids will laugh and have fun watching this movie and the parents are very likely to secretly sob.
I loved the villains in the movie, especially Costel/ Gabriel Spahiu is brilliant as always. Cotimanis has a memorable part and shows his big acting potential in a long time. There are also other popular actors in this movie, but the big surprise for me were the kids. 5 Romanian kids ( around 10 years old I think) and others with supporting roles who made me enter their story and feel like a child again. This is really a premiere considering that there are no Romanian films with and about children in which kids actors would play so well! The locations were marvelous, the sound excellent, the music could be better sometimes, the dialogues very good, there are some scenes pure gold but also some that were meah, but overall the movie is unique for the Romanian cinematography and makes you want to see more, eventually a continuation.
There are production aspects that could have been better but considering it's a Romanian indie movie produced by a gang of young people ( the Director is a young woman at her debut and other names on the production list are also at their debut) I will simply overlook it. Moreover, I think that such people should be encouraged because Romanian cinema needs such clean films with beautiful messages and interesting stories for the young audience.
