Ghostbleed: The Bio Horror

There's so much going on here that I don't even know where to start. Okay-first, the title of this short film: I think it's inspired by Ghostbusters and Biohazard (better known as Resident Evil outside Japan). There are several nods to both of these franchises throughout the film.

Second, the short combines live-action footage with classic cartoon and retro video game styles-sometimes separately, sometimes all at once. Most of the film is presented using intentionally outdated, low-res video game graphics. Naturally, the characters are animated like in a video game, and the laws of physics follow suit.

Third, there's a lot of humor here. Some of it is subtle, while other moments are more direct, like jokes or visual gags. I noticed dry, tongue-in-cheek comedic elements and scenes that feel inspired by late 20th-century cult films-especially the Evil Dead series.

And fourth... we need more. Whether it's a Part 2 or a full-length feature, I'd love to see where this story goes next.
