Dance with the Seashells!

This animated short is an intriguing blend of styles-classic French animation reminiscent of Tintin, Ghibli-like scenes with their rich color palettes, and the modern "Ageless Age" comic art style. Human characters and objects close to them are drawn with bold outlines, while natural elements are softer and line-free, creating a striking contrast. The story is musically driven, centering on a singer about to start her show when, suddenly, the entire concert hall vanishes. With the help of a quirky mascot character, she sets out to find it. A seductive short animation about apparences and the event changing everything in the best manner. Seductive, nice and cool, it is one of good kicks to become yourself, against interdictions and need to be accepted .

Indeed, the gift of this animation is the flavor of old Japanese animations of 1990 decade from heidi to sandy Bell but a nice eulogy to music with a silly song about dogs and love and joy and wisdom to accept yourself.

The good point - Mehdi, the mascot , faithful, courageous, the best friend.

I can never get over just how beautiful animation is as a medium. Such a simple story is greatly told with such strong personality and aesthetic that you couldn't replicate if it were live action. Need more 2D animation in this style yesterday.

I don't know why, but the French voices added so much charm to the characters, especially the mascot. They were such fun characters and reacted as anyone would if a concert hall disappeared out of thin air:

"Let's go find it"

"Ok."

I just wish it were longer! I need more of this cute little world. I could see it being made in to a longer short film, personally. Gobelins students just know where it's at, for real.
