Jennifer Winget as the lead convinced me to watch this web series, which I initially thought was shorter but turned out to be a 102-episode TV serial. With three episodes a week, I reached a point midway where I felt I couldn't continue. Nevertheless, I finished watching it, and here is my review.
The story revolves around a law firm headed by Anushka Raisinghani after the unfortunate accident of her famous father and lawyer, Rajdeep Raisinghani. Despite her professional and personal struggles, she strives to maintain her father's legacy. The series covers 3-4 interconnected cases that the characters attempt to solve throughout.
Jennifer is magical on screen even today. With her confident performance and impeccable dressing style, she nails her part to perfection. Her confidant, lover, and competitor at the same firm, played by Karan Wahi, complements her well and performs his role admirably. Reem Shaikh, with her negative shade, adds value to the series and performs earnestly. She stands shoulder to shoulder with Jennifer, which can only be achieved by a strong performer. Eklavya Sood has an endearing presence, and he will surely be seen in many TV serials in the future. Similarly, all other characters, big or small, do full justice to their roles.
The series started intriguingly, as courtroom or legal dramas are rare in Hindi serials. It was a welcome change. Every character is well-written, with their own arcs and meaningful actions. The series is written by Anuradha Tewari, co-writer of famous movies like Fashion, Jail, and Heroine. However, she lost the plot here, extending the series to a length that tests your patience.
The series could have been one of the best if it were shorter by 40 episodes, as the story kept revolving at one point for many episodes. The absurdity is that only 3-4 cases are shown in a legal drama with so many episodes. To top it off, the series abruptly stopped without any warning at episode 102. You couldn't be more frustrated by something like this. It led me to decide not to watch lengthy series again.
Investing in such a lengthy drama from the start is not recommended. Watch it only if you have nothing else to watch and are a die-hard fan of Jennifer, but be warned-you won't get answers and will be left hanging.
