It's vitally important to walk on eggshells while traversing the 21st century landscape. Touchy subjects like Covid are kindling for hurt feelings, and short of death itself, hurt feelings are at the top of the list of terrible things that can happen to a person.
This movie is like a hurt feelings machine gun spraying wounded pride everywhere it aims. The weak of heart and feeble-minded are advised to just stay in the safety of their own home.
It's quite difficult to review this movie without hurting the feelings of approximately 170 million Americans. So difficult that apparently only one other person has been able to achieve it. Hopefully I will be the 2nd.
The movie is powerful, absorbing, anger-inducing, sad. I laughed, I cried, I gnashed my teeth and angrily spat profanities at the screen. When it was over I felt like I'd been through WWII, the Big One, Battle of the Bulge, Gulf on Tonkin, etc etc.
Humans are flawed. I think we can all agree on that. Forgiving the flaws of another is sometimes a hard pill to swallow but it might be a good idea. Worth pondering anyway.
