The show and series are fun and fast paced, which is probably why it's lasted 15 seasons. It has a wide variety of stories and never falls back into cliches or same-old same-old. You never get bored.

Each season is based on a common theme, however, that theme is addressed in myriad of different ways ranging from drama to comedy to mystery to sci-fi to suspense.

The show is also great because it's adventurous. The cats and crew aren't afraid to take risks and really push the envelope, doing things that nobody else on TV is doing.
