I Just Want to Be A Good Person

In this short film, a man desperately wants to be liked and seen as a good person. Yet, the harder he tries, the less respect he gets. The message seems simple: don't try too hard - just be yourself. But is it really that simple? Reality often isn't. I'm a bit puzzled because, on one hand, if the "real you" truly is a good person who does all those things, why shouldn't you show it in every possible way? Maybe I'm overthinking it, but this short definitely presents a genuine dilemma.
