  • Watchable, but slow paced...

Now, this movie was one that I had not heard about prior to sitting down here in 2025 to watch it. And with it being a religiously-based movie, I have to admit that I did harbor some doubt about it. But I still opted to watch the movie, solely because it was a movie that I hadn't seen, nor heard about. And maybe writer and director Maggie Betts would pleasantly surprise me with this 2017 drama.

Writer Maggie Betts, whom also directed the movie, put together a fair enough script, though you have to be in the mood for a slow paced drama such as this turned out to be, and running at more than two hours, you might have to arm yourself with a cup of coffee and an extra supply of patience. Now, I have to admit that I am by no means traversed or familiar with the way a cloister functions or is run, so I have no idea how true the narrative in the movie was to actual life. Do or did nuns actually have to crawl around on all four to ask for penance?

There wasn't a lot of familiar talents on the cast list, at least not for me. I was only familiar with Margaret Qualley and Melissa Leo. The acting performances in the movie were quite good.

The cinematography in the movie was good and certainly added a lot to the overall enjoyment of the movie. And there was quite a lot of attention to detail, and I will say that the props, wardrobe and setting departments certainly did a good job as well.

While the movie was watchable, it is hardly a movie that warrants more than a single viewing, as there just simply wasn't sufficient of interesting material to make it so. I am not saying that it is a bad movie, not at all, it just wasn't a particularly riveting narrative. And running at 123 minutes, the movie could have benefitted from a more round-handed trim in the editing room.

My rating of writer and director Maggie Betts' 2017 movie "Novitiate" lands on a five out of ten stars.

  • As bad as the first movie, for better or worse...

I had recently just sat through the 2024 movie "Married to a Balla" and can't really claim that I found it enjoyable, but I still opted to watch the 2025 sequel, simply because it was a movie that I hadn't already seen.

After having seen the first movie, I still have no clue what a "balla" is. So maybe after watching the sequel it will make sense.

Writers Jacqueline Davis, Jamal Hill and Tressa Azarel Smallwood, with the latter two returning to for writing duties from the first movie, put together a script that was every bit as boring and mundane as in the first movie. So you're not in for anything grand here.

I recognized Dominique Madison, Emanuel Alexander, Alonte Williams, Cristina Encarnacion and Mario Golden on the cast list, as they were also in the first movie. The acting performances in the movie were fair.

This sequel certainly will cater to an audience that enjoyed the first movie. However, if you didn't enjoy the first movie, then you most definitely will also not enjoy the sequel.

And no, I still have no clue what a "balla" is.

My rating of director Emily Skye's 2025 movie "Married to a Balla 2" lands on a generous three out of ten stars. Emily Skye also directed the 2024 movie "Married to a Balla".

  • Not really worth the effort...

Truth be told, I had zero expectations to this 2025 werewolf-themed horror movie titled "Frenzy Moon" prior to sitting down to watch it, solely because the vast majority of werewolf-themed movies are lousy and questionable affairs at best. But still, since it was a movie that I had never seen before, nor actually ever heard about, of course I opted to give the movie the benefit of the doubt.

The storyline in the movie was pretty straightforward, but also so simplistic that you could essentially replace the werewolf with anything else in the horror genre and still have the same movie. I was not particularly impressed with the narrative that Gregory Lamberson put together here.

I was not familiar with a single actress or actor on the cast list, though I have to say that some of the acting performances were dubious and wooden, while others were adequate.

The effects in the movie were a mixed bag of nuts. Some of the blood and gore effects were fair adequate, while the werewolf itself was one of the worst renderings of a werewolf that I've seen in a long, long time. It was inarticulate and just generally looked like a cheap, terrible Halloween costume.

This was a pretty low key attempt at making a werewolf movie, and not one that I would recommend you to waste 80 minutes on watching. Nor is it a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time.

My rating of writer and director Gregory Lamberson's 2025 movie "Frenzy Moon" lands on a very generous three out of ten stars.

  • Not particularly good...

Another horror movie checked off of the watched-movies list. Sure, I had no idea what I was in for here, as I sat down to watch "Baby Blue", aside from it being a horror movie that I hadn't already seen.

The storyline in the movie was not particularly entertaining. Sure, I've seen far worse in movies, but there was just nothing overly enjoyable to sit through here, and that made it a bit of a struggle to keep feigning an interest in the movie. So I was not really impressed with the material that writers Simon Boyes and Adam Mason conjured up here.

One thing that did work in favor of the movie, was the fact that I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list, aside from Sal Lopez. It should be noted, though, that the acting performances in the movie were fair.

Visually then the movie was okay, but nothing noteworthy to write home about. And the movie's cover was essentially the best thing about the ordeal.

As a horror fan, then "Baby Blue" did not really cut it for me. And as such, this is hardly a movie that I would recommend horror fans to sit down and waste 89 minutes on watching.

My rating of director Adam Mason's 2023 movie "Baby Blue" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.

  • Pretty bad actually...

While I had indeed never even heard about this 2024 movie titled "Mortal Game", as I happened to stumble upon it by random chance here in 2025, of course I still opted to give the movie a fair chance. I do watch just about anything I haven't already seen, and thus I had to check out what director John Lechago had to offer here. But with a staggering 3.4 rating here on IMDb, I can't claim to be having any grant expectations to the movie.

The storyline in the movie was pretty straightforward, but also insanely generic. Writers Paco Alvarez and John Patrick Lechago seemed to play it safe and betted on every generic trope of a movie of this type and genre. But hey, if you enjoy movies with an unknown creature terrorizing a small group of people, then you're in for a treat here.

As it happened to be, I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. The acting performances in the movie were fair, despite the fact that the script was a swing and a miss. And I will say that Deniella Alexis was definitely a nice addition to the cast list.

The effects in the movie were nothing to get excited about.

This was hardly a noteworthy movie, and a rather forgettable one at that. It is not a movie that I would recommend you to waste 85 minutes on watching. Nor is it a movie that I will ever watch again.

My rating of director John Lechago's 2024 movie Mortal Game" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.

  • It was long gone alright...

The movie's cover was actually interesting enough for me to pick it up. And seeing that it was a movie that I hadn't already seen with Andy Garcia and Frank Grillo on the cast list, of course I opted to check it out.

The storyline in "Long Gone Heroes", as written by John Swab and Santiago Manes Moreno, was watchable, but hardly an outstanding foray into the action thriller genre. I can't claim that I was overly impressed with the narrative that they churned out, and it was somewhat slow paced and devoid of much of action scenes.

There are some familiar talents on the cast list, such as Andy Garcia, Frank Grillo, Mekhi Phifer, Josh Hutcherson, Beau Knapp and Melissa Leo. Needless to say that the acting performances in the movie were good.

The action scenes that were in the movie were good, but they were too few and far in between.

If you enjoy action thrillers, perhaps you should check out this 2024 movie, you might actually enjoy it more than I did as a casual viewer. I can honestly say that I am never sitting down to watch this movie a second time.

My rating of director John Swab's 2024 movie "Long Gone Heroes" lands on a generous four out of ten stars.

  • An interesting adaptation of Mary Shelley's classic...

Of course I needed no persuasion to sit down and watch Guillermo del Toro's 2025 rendering of the classic Mary Shelley's novel "Frankenstein".

Writer Guillermo del Toro took Mary Shelley's original work and added his own twist to it, which was certainly not a bad thing. It was refreshing to me at least, and I enjoyed it. This is, of course, not a groundbreaking tale that you get to watch here, especially since it is a tale that has been brought to the screen numerous times before 2025.

It is a rather long movie, playing at no less than 152 minutes. And could perhaps have benefitted from a trim in post-production.

The cast ensemble was good, and with the likes of Oscar Isaac, Christoph Waltz, Mia Goth, Charles Dance, David Bradley, Lars Mikkelsen and Nikolaj Lie Kaas on the cast list you're in rather capable company. Needless to say that the acting performances in the movie were good.

Visually then I found the movie to be quite good. The special effects were great and really helped bring the movie to life. And of course a movie such as this really needed great special effects in other to be effective. And with it being a Guillermo del Toro movie, of course you're in for a treat.

My rating of director Guillermo del Toro's 2025 movie "Frankenstein" lands on a seven out of ten stars.

  • It never got off the runway...

While I have no idea what a "balla" is, I still opted to watch the movie solely on account of it being a movie that I had not already seen, nor ever actually heard about.

Writers Jamal Hill and Tressa Azarel Smallwood put together a script that was semi-adequate. While it does deal with some heavy topics of real life, the narrative just never really got into gear, and just sort of trotted on and on in a sort of slow paced speed.

I actually don't think I was familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. The acting performances in the movie were fair.

Semi-watchable for what it was, but hardly an outstanding thriller. And is it a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time, nor is it a movie that I would recommend you to go waste 104 minutes on watching.

My rating of director Emily Skye's 2024 movie "Married to a Ball" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.

  • Terrible...

I can't claim that this 2011 movie titled "Kill" had a particular interesting cover. But still, given my love of all things horror, and since it was a movie that I had never seen, nor actually heard about, then of course I had to check it out.

As the movie started, and I saw that it was a Troma Team movie, I have to say that my expectations to the movie went from slim to none.

Writers Chad Archibald, Gabriel Carrer and Ry Barrett failed to piece together a script and storyline that entertained me. In fact, I was rather perplexes that three writers collectively could muster to put together something this devoid of entertainment value.

Something that certainly worked in favor of the movie was the fact that I wasn't familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. The acting performances, however, left much to be desired; some of the performances were rigid and wooden, whereas others were okay. The delivery of the dialogue was wobbly at best. But then again, the actors actresses didn't have much of anything solid to work with.

The effects in the movie were not great.

My rating of directors Chad Archibald and Gabriel Carrer's 2011 movie "Kill" lands on a generous two out of ten stars.

  • Not particularly funny...

I actually don't think I've ever seen this 2008 comedy titled "Lower Learning", from director Mark Lafferty, before now in 2025. I stumbled upon the movie by random chance, and since it was a movie that I wasn't familiar with, of course I opted to give it a fair chance.

The storyline in the movie, as written by Mark Lafferty and Shahin Chandrasoma, was okay. I mean, it was watchable, but hardly an outstanding comedy. And speaking of comedy, then I found the movie to be rather devoid of actual funny stuff to make you laugh.

The movie actually has a surprisingly good cast ensemble, with the likes of Eva Longoria, Jason Biggs, Rob Corddry, Will Sasso, Ed Helms, Monica Potter and Nat Faxon on the cast list. Needless to say that the acting performances were good.

This is definitely not a movie that I would recommend you to rush out and get to watch if you enjoy comedies, and it was somewhat of a dud.

  • Nothing new here...

While I had never heard about this 2025 short horror film "The Showffeür", as I stumbled upon it by random chance, of course I opted to watch it, given my love of all things horror.

Writer Dom Penna put together a fair enough script, though if you've seen any of the "Wrong Turn" or "The Hills Have Eyes" movies, then you essentially have also already seen this movie, except it wasn't inbred mutants here.

I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. But the acting performances were fair.

The effects in the movie were also fair, and certainly helped to keep the movie afloat.

Watchable, sure, but hardly an outstanding foray into the horror genre. Nor is it a movie that I will return to watch a second time.

  • Wow, just wow...

Ugh, another found-garbage movie. And that fact alone is sufficient to put the movie off to a very, very bad start in my book. Why? Well, because I absolutely loathe the found-garbage genre of movies. Why pay to watch something you could have filmed yourself using a phone camera or digital video camera? And had I known beforehand that "The Hem" was a found-garbage movie, I wouldn't have picked it up, nor even glanced at it a second time.

The storyline in the movie was pretty much a copy-paste job of any other generic found-garbage movie, so you're not in for anything grand here; unless you happen to enjoy this ridiculous subgenre of movies.

I cannot, not even if my life depended on it, fathom why people enjoy the found-garbage genre of movies. They are more often than not low budget and of very questionable making.

Needless to say that I was, of course, not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. And that was actually something that spoke in favor of the movie, as I do happen to enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances in the movie were fair.

My rating of writer and director Tyler Russell's 2025 movie "The Hem" lands on a very, very generous two out of ten stars.

  • It was actually not too bad...

Without ever having seen, nor actually ever heard about the 2005 movie "Twitches", I opted to watch the 2007 movie "Twitches Too" also without having heard about it. I had the opportunity to sit down and watch it here in 2025, and thus I did. But with it being a Disney movie and with Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowry in the leading roles, I figured chances were that it wouldn't be entirely bad.

Writers Dan Berendsen and Randi Reisfeld put together a fair enough script, as it was a light-hearted family fantasy movie. And without having read the book from H. B. Gilmour, upon which the movie is based, I have no idea how true the writers were to the source material. This is, and no surprise there really, a movie aimed for a younger teenage audience. I am not saying that it was bad or anything, nor that it is not suitable for adults, because it is a fairly watchable enough movie.

Of the entire cast ensemble in the movie, I was actually only familiar with Tia Mowry, Tamera Mowry, Patrick Fabian and Arnold Pinnock. The acting performances in the movie were fair.

The sets in the movie were fair, though the effects were not overly great. The props and wardrobe departments in the movie were fair as well. And that actually helped lift up the movie a bit.

When I sat down to watch the 2022 movie "Alien Goddess", from writer and director Andreas Marawell, here in 2025, I had never heard about it. And from the movie's cover, I have to admit that I wasn't harboring the biggest of expectations to the movie.

The storyline in the movie was pretty straightforward, though hardly anything noteworthy or outstanding. And the movie hardly is one that warrants more than a single viewing.

Suffice it to say that I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. Not that it was a bad thing, not at all. Because I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances in the movie were fair.

The special effects in the movie were simplistic, but worked out well enough, taking into consideration the budget and level of production here.

Would I recommend horror fans to track down "Alien Goddess"? Nope. Nor is it a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time.

Despite the fact that this movie had Dennis Hopper starring in it, then I had actually never even heard about it. And as I stumbled upon this 1994 movie titled "Witch Hunt" here in 2025, of course I opted to check it out and see what director Paul Schrader had to offer.

Writer Joseph Dougherty put together a fair enough script and storyline. It was watchable and entertaining enough for the cheese that it was.

You just got to love the name of Dennis Hopper's character in the movie, which was H. Phillip Lovecraft.

The movie has a good cast ensemble, with the likes of Dennis Hopper, Penelope Ann Miller, Clifton Collins Jr., Eric Bogosian, Debi Mazar and Julian Sands. I was really, really surprised to see Julian Sands in the movie, as I he is my all-time favorite actor, yet I didn't know he was in this movie. The acting performances in "Witch Hunt" were good.

The effects in the movie were a mixed bag of nuts; some were fair, others were dubious.

Without knowing what I was in for here, as I had never heard about the movie prior to sitting down here in 2025, I opted to watch the movie solely because it was a movie that I hadn't already seen before.

Writers Barbara Bishop, Mansour Pourmand and Mark Troy put together a script and storyline that was every bit as cheesy as it was entertaining. It was actually watchable enough for what it was, but let's face it, you're not in for anything grand here.

I was not familiar with any actors or actresses on the cast list, which was actually something that worked in favor of the movie, as I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen.

  • Watchable Western horror...

Never having heard about the 2025 movie "Resurrection Road" prior to stumbling upon it, I still opted to watch it as it was a movie that I hadn't already seen. But I have to admit that I harbored no expectations to the movie as I had recently sat through a rather atrocious Civil War themed movie named "Storm Over Georgia".

The storyline was okay. It wasn't exactly a particularly outstanding foray into the world of Western horror, but it proved to be enjoyable enough for what it turned out to be.

There were three familiar faces on the cast list for me, and that was Michael Madsen, Okea Eme-Akwari and Jeff Daniel Phillips. The acting performances in the movie were generally good.

The costumes and props in the movie were good, and definitely added to the overall enjoyment of the movie. The scene with the big cannons was pretty laughable, it was terrible CGI that looked like untextured graphics from a 1990s computer game.

Watchable for what it was, but hardly a movie that warrants more than a single viewing.

  • Quite enjoyable...

I have always enjoyed the movies in the "Predator" franchise, and thus needed no persuasion to sit down and watch this 2025 addition to the franchise, from director Dan Trachtenberg. And truth be told, I did enjoy the "Prey" movie, so I did have some expectations to this movie.

Writers Patrick Aison and Dan Trachtenberg put together an enjoyable and entertaining script. It was a nicely written storyline which actually proved entertaining from start to end. So the writers stepped up and delivered quite nicely.

The acting performances in the movie were good. There was only a single familiar face on the cast list for me, and that was Elle Fanning.

The special effects in the movie are good and looked real, and that definitely added a lot to the movie. The movie has so much fantastic scenery and sets that there is a lot to take in. And there are some interesting creature designs in the movie as well.

There is a lot of action in the movie, which made it all the more enjoyable to sit through, I have to admit that.

If you enjoy the "Predator" franchise, then this 2025 movie is well-worth sitting down to watch. In fact, I found "Predator: Badlands" to be a step up from the 2022 movie "Prey".

  • Nah...

The mere fact that this 1999 movie titled "Desecration" was a horror movie that I had not already seen, nor actually ever heard about, was more than sufficient to make me sit down and watch it here in 2025, as I was given the chance to do so. Sure, I harbored no expectations to the movie, as I virtually had no idea what I was in for. So in a sense, I suppose, writer and director Dante Tomaselli had every opportunity to entertain me.

I can't claim to say that the movie's storyline, script and narrative was particularly enthralling or entertaining. It was a best semi-watchable, but hardly so. I have to admit that my attention drifted from the screen as nothing happened for long periods of time, and the movie just looked, felt and sounded like a low budget amateurish home-made project.

Something that worked out in favor of the movie was the fact that I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. The acting performances in the movie were actually fair enough.

While I thoroughly enjoy all things horror, I just didn't find much of any enjoyment in this 1999 movie. And thus, it is not a movie that I would recommend horror fans to rush out and get to watch. This is definitely not a movie that will grace my screen a second time.

  • This was pretty bad...

Of course I had never even heard about this 2020 movie titled "Dagger Kiss: Enchanted Forest" prior to sitting down to watch it. And truth be told, I had absolutely zero expectations or hopes for the movie, solely based on the movie's cover. But I still opted to give the movie a fair chance, since I had never seen it and on the off-chance that writer and director Tucky Williams had something good to showcase here.

From the movie's title and cover alone, I figured that this would probably be some lame ass low budget sleazy softcore movie. And not even 10 minutes into the 79 minute runtime, it was apparent that the movie was exactly that. This was little more than an outlet for writer, director and star Tucky Williams to showcase some fantasies.

And seeing that the movie was written by, directed by and starring Tucky Williams, I can't claim that my expectations to the movie grew. Movies that have one person in all these positions tend to be questionable affairs.

Needless to say that I was not familiar with a single actress or actor on the cast list, can't claim that it came as a surprise though, given the type of movie that this was.

I doubt that people actually do sit down to watch a movie such as this for the narrative. I managed to suffer through, and I mean that literally, a staggering 19 minutes before tossing the towel in the ring and giving up on this pointless movie.

My rating of writer and director Tucky Williams's 2020 movie "Dagger Kiss: Enchanted Forest" lands on a two out of ten stars.

I have to be honest here and admit that I harbored very little expectations to this 2022 movie titled "The Deadly Getaway" when I stumbled upon it here in 2025. The movie's cover just wasn't exactly one that oozed with the worth of stellar entertainment. But since it was a movie that I hadn't already seen before, of course I opted to watch it and give it a fair chance.

Writers Eric Dickens and Chad Quinn put together a script and storyline that wasn't exactly top notch. But at least it was semi-watchable for what it turned out to be, if you don't mind a bland and generic narrative.

Needless to say that I was, of course, not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. But in all honesty, I will say that the acting performances in the movie were actually fair.

"The Deadly Getaway" is hardly a movie that warrants more than a single viewing, nor is it a movie that I would recommend for you to rush out, track down and get to watch. It just simply wasn't particularly great.

My rating of director Charles Jones's 2022 movie "The Deadly Getaway" lands on a four out of ten stars.
Stephen Fry, Jane Horrocks, Laura Aikman, Brian Bovell, Mark Heap, Guy Henry, Tom Lenk, Sophie Thompson, Johnny Vegas, Tony Way, Megan Stevenson, Chris Reading, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Simon Porter, Hillary Shakespeare, Anna-Elizabeth Shakespeare, and Ruth Syratt in Time Travel Is Dangerous (2024)

  • Might have to travel back in time to find the comedy that was missing from this movie...

Not knowing what I was in for here, aside from "Time Travel is Dangerous" being a comedy, I opted to watch the movie, as I had the chance to do so here in 2025.

Writers Chris Reading, Anna-Elizabeth Shakespeare, Hillary Shakespeare and Ruth Syratt put together a script and storyline that fell short of entertaining me. For a comedy, I have to say that "Time Travel is Dangerous" was frightfully devoid of anything funny. In fact, I found the narrative in the movie to be somewhat of a swing and a miss, as the storyline was bland and mundane.

There were two familiar performers on the cast list for me, and that was Stephen Fry and Brian Blessed. The acting performance in the movie were fair.

This is not a movie that I would recommend you to sit down and spend 99 minutes on watching. Nor is it a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time.

My rating of director Chris Reading's 2024 movie "Time Travel is Dangerous" lands on a rather generous three out of ten stars.

  • Seriously, why...?

Stumbling upon the 2023 horror movie "The Forest Hills", from writer and director Scott Goldberg, by random chance here in 2025, of course I opted to watch it, given my love of all things horror. I had actually never heard about it, but from what I could read on the synopsis, it seemed like this was a werewolf movie of sorts.

Well, I can't exactly claim that the script and storyline proved particularly entertaining or enjoyable. It was a rather bland and directionless movie, where entertainment value was right out the window. And that made sitting through 79 minutes of this quite an ordeal.

The movie actually have some familiar faces on the cast list, with the likes of Shelley Duvall, Edward Furlong, Felissa Rose and Dee Wallace, which was a bit of a surprise. The acting performances in the movie were mostly good.

If you enjoy horror movies, then I would not recommend you to waste 79 minutes on "The Forest Hills". There are far more interesting movies out there better spent that amount of time on watching.

My rating of writer and director Scott Goldberg's 2023 movie "The Forest Hills" lands on a very generous three out of ten star.
Bill Weeden and Nolan Tierce in Special Needs Revolt! (2024)

  • Yeah, okay...

When I sat down to watch this 2024 movie titled "Special Needs Revolt", from director Adrian Esposito, I have to say that I harbored absolutely zero expectations. But I still opted to watch the movie as it was a movie that I hadn't already seen. And the movie's cover wasn't exactly doing much to help sell the movie convincingly.

I can't claim to have found much of any enjoyment or entertainment in the script and storyline that writers Adrian Esposito, Curt Markham and Bill Weeden managed to piece together.

Needless to say that I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. The acting performances in the movie were not good. It was rather amateurish and wooden. Some of the performers were even looking directly into the camera at times during dialogue.

The special effects in the movie were actually not entirely bad. I've seen far worse special effects in some movies, so at least that counted for something to the overall enjoyment of the movie.

How this movie landed a 6.3 rating here on IMDb, as of the very moment I sat down and watch it, is simply beyond my comprehension.

My rating of director Adrian Esposito's 2024 movie "Special Needs Revolt" lands on a generous two out of ten stars.

  • So much dialogue and nearly no gators...

Now, given my love of all things killer-animal, of course I needed no persuasion to sit down and watch what writer and director Michael Houston King had to offer with this 2025 movie. Sure, I had never heard about the movie, and thus had virtually no idea what I was in for, not that it really mattered.

Writer Michael Houston King, who also directed the movie, put together a script that proved boring and devoid of anything interesting. And it had a surprisingly small amount of actual scenes with gators in it. And let's face it, when you sit down to watch a movie such as "Lake Jesup: Bonecrushers Revenge", then you want to be treated to a massacre with gators, not a massacre of dialogue.

The dialogue on the movie was a bit strained, and sort of childish at times.

The movie's cover was actually rather interesting and it made me pick up the movie.

There was a lot of scenes in the movie that felt like nothing more than filler to extend the play time, especially since they didn't do much to further the movie's narrative. And there was also a lot, and I do emphasize a lot, of dialogue scenes in the movie, which took away from much needed gator scenes.

Actually, I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. And while you might think that is a bad thing, quite the contrary, it is a good thing, because I enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances in the movie were fair.

The effects in the movie were okay. I mean, the gator was pretty fake and you don't really get to see much of it when it is attacking people, leaving much to be desired. And the movie does suffer from that aspect.

In fact, the movie's cover was the best thing about the entire ordeal. Needless to say that the cover over-sells the movie by a landslide.

Talk about a swing and a miss of a movie. If you want to watch a movie with gators, don't waste 87 minutes on this, as it was 95% dialogue scenes.

My rating of writer and director Michael Houston King's 2025 movie "Lake Jesup: Bonecrusher's Revenge" lands on a generous two out of ten stars.
