In 1998 Scott (with longtime friend and collaborator Paul Bellini) published Buddy Babylon, a fictional "biography" of his most notorious character, martini-swilling-chain-smoking uber-queer Buddy Cole.
Openly homosexual, he, in reference to being the only gay member of The Kids in the Hall (1988), would often say "Hi, I'm Scott Thompson, and yes, I'm the fag".
