- TriviaAlthough most of his acting roles were in small bit parts, usually uncredited, his main claim to fame--and for which he made most of his money--was his astounding ability as a knife thrower (also axes, spears, tomahawks, etc.). If you saw the "hero" throw a knife or axe and the next scene you saw it land squarely in the center of whatever it was targeted for, chances are extremely good that it was actually Clemente who made the throw. His amazing prowess was such that he would take his throwing act on the road, performing for circuses and rodeos and giving exhibitions in both the US and abroad. He also gave instructions to many cowboy actors on knife handling and throwing, and was the throwing "double" on many western films and TV series.
