Debarati Bhowmick

Debarati Bhowmick is a prominent filmmaker and screenplay-dialogue writer for movies and web series, besides being a published author. Debarati started her first work as a filmmaker and made a film on the Pakistan genocide and Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971. The story of Kantataar is based on the love affair of a couple who would sacrifice everything and flee to India for the sake of their love. Debarati has been associated with the Bengali film industry since 2020, when she first wrote the screenplay and dialogues for the short film "Chupkatha". "Chupkatha is now streaming on Addatimes. Her next work was registered for a Bengali web series, Dr. Gangulyr Diary, to be streaming on Hippiix OTT. Finally, in 2021, she wrote the screenplay and dialogue for the Bengali feature film Rish, starring Saurav Das and Darshana Banik. Rish is a horror story about a little girl who is possessed by an evil soul that wants to destroy her family and kill her. Rish has garnered popularity among Bengali horror movies and was telecast on Zee Bangla Cinema on August 6th, 2023. Apart from writing screenplay, Debarati has also penned the lyrics of the title song of Rish (Risher Bishe). She has composed another romantic number in the web series Dr. Gangulyr Diary.
