Brent Bishop is a writer/director/producer with a passion for blending comedy and magical realism to communicate complex themes such as equality, social justice, and environmental conservation. His work includes a feature in development and numerous shorts, and his music videos have over one million views. The short film "Without" played in festivals around the world, received worldwide distribution, and features a score by the Grammy-winning Kronos Quartet. He has worked on acclaimed docs like "The Rape of Europa" and an Emmy-winning episode of "The Simpsons."
His popular "Just Sayin'!" Comedic PSA series features comedians, actors, and athletes speaking out on important issues, and he regularly creates work for worthy causes, including a PSA with Patton Oswalt supporting bone marrow donation, a campaign for the Save the Redwoods League, and a video series supporting the Tibetan Monk Tour.
His work has received significant press, awards, and foundation support, including multiple grants from both the San Francisco Arts Commission and the Zellerbach Foundation.
He is a multi-instrumentalist musician and composer, and graduated from UCLA Film with a focus on directing and animation. His studies also included Comparative Religion and Ethnomusicology.
