Alexander's grandfather was screenwriter Jesse Lasky Jr. who wrote eight films for Cecil B. DeMille including "The Ten Commandments". His great grandfather was Jesse Lasky Sr. who produced the first feature film in Hollywood and started a company that became Paramount.
