In the summer of 2008, Chevassus got caught in a full-scale avalanche on Single Shot Mountain in Glacier National Park, Montana. He plummeted over 500 vertical feet, ultimately being pushed over a 30 foot cliff to come to a dead-stop on razor sharp shale.
