Tony McMahon is an on-screen contributor on TV documentaries covering history, science, social, and political topics. Typical subjects are the Knights Templar; world religions and mythologies; UFOs and the paranormal; true crime and serial killers, and the history of terrorism and political movements. He is a regular face on TheUnXplained with William Shatner (Prometheus); Secrets of the Royal Palaces (Channel 5); Cursed Histories (Go Button/Super Channel); and Strange Evidence (Wag Entertainment).
On History, he has been one of four Truthseekers in an investigative series made by RMC/Big Media looking at the Pyramids of Giza, Nazca Lines, the death of Cleopatra, and the predictions of Nostradamus.
Tony is a former BBC news producer and has appeared on TV and radio news to talk about his books or history in the news.
His books include a current trilogy on the Knights Templar being published by Pen & Sword; a book on Jack the Ripper published by Troubador; an explanation of political Islamism co-authored with Dame Sara Khan published by Saqi Books, and two books with themes around race - the biographies of black British boxer Errol Christie (nominated for two awards) and the biography of Neville Staple, lead singer in The Specials and Fun Boy Three.
Tony has co-founded a creative ideas hub to develop documentary ideas with the casting agent Nigel Hetherington. The company is called Fabula TV Limited and works with other producers, distributors, and networks. Services include ideas generation, consultancy, scripting, providing talent, and appearing on screen as presenter or contributor.
Tony runs a number of blogs on the Knights Templar (TheTemplarKnight.com), general history issues (BeardyHistory.com), post-war politics and culture (The70s80s90s.com) and a YouTube channel.
