Rafael Yoshida is a Japanese-Brazilian filmmaker with a career marked by collaborative and innovative projects. He was the director and screenwriter of the feature films The Owner (2012) and Train Station (2016), which were screened in more than 25 countries and won dozen of Best Film awards at festivals worldwide.
In 2014, he co-directed and was the director of photography for the short film Distance, which was among the seven finalists at the Starz Denver International Film Festival and the Miami International Film Festival, competing with Oscar nominees that year.
In 2017, he worked as the casting director for the Netflix Original feature film "The Killer".
Between 2019 and 2022, Rafael directed the series Balaclava, aired on Prime Box Brazil, and Malandragem, available on Wolo TV, both released in 2022.
Beyond his work as a director and screenwriter, in 2021, he became a partner at Gatacine and served as a producer and executive producer of the film "Buddies and the Heir", a co-production with Globo Filmes.
