Kabeer is the grandson of Indian animation pioneer and 16-time President's National award winner, Bhimsain (known for Gharaonda, Doooriyan, Choti Badi Baaten and Ek Anek Ekta). He is the son of Kireet Khurana (Toonpur ka Superrhero, The Leftist Sufi) and Tehzeeb Khurana (animation director - Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic).
