Jess Byard has been a life long movie fan, repeatedly torturing their family with repeat viewings of Temple of Doom and Gremlins. From a young age they studied every show on Animal Planet and were determined to host their own travel show hunting down cryptids.
Today, Jess lives and works in Akron at Red Point Digital as a producer and writer. Though they are not traversing the wild landscapes of the world, they have built their own world in storytelling. Their first adventure was writing and producing an award-winning stop-motion animation called "The Cat". From there they traveled the US working on the docuseries "The Con" investigating the horrifying world of big finance. They write features, shorts, dabbled in sound recording, and find joy in the controlled chaos of set life.
In 2020, Jess began taking on Assistant Directing roles with companies such as Full Moon Features, Dallas Pike, and Youngstown Pictures.
When Jess isn't working they can be found in their apartment lounging with 3 gremlins (aka cats), watching the latest horror movies, or working on scripts and other artistic endeavors. Jess also actively works to support and be a voice in the LGBTQ+ community and is passionate about giving the underrepresented a voice. They also co-host a podcast still looking for the truth about cryptids.
